How it works

Geothermal or ground source energy can be harnessed by burying pipes beneath the ground.

Ground source heat pumps are electrically powered systems that use the natural energy stored in the earth to heat your home. It's a simple principle, and the result is low-cost heating that uses sustainable energy and causes no direct emissions or other damage to the environment. TSS often uses Worcester's Greenstar ground source heat pumps which are suitable for a variety of different properties and are designed to be the sole source of heating and hot water in the home.

For each kilowatt of electricity used to power the ground source heat pumps, this system could produce four kilowatts or more in energy for your home, whilst helping to preserve the earth's supplies of non-renewable fossil fuels.
